It is best if you avoid the caffeinated drinks and sugar combo. Your body recognizes the empty calories of these drinks and you should cut them from your diet. Studies have also shown that people using the empty calorie drinks will usually eat more to compensate the lack of nutrients. What is actually happening here, is the wrong information is being sent to your body. When you drink the liquid carbs, opposed to whole food, your body will remain craving nutrients that aren’t there.
Now we will talk about those of us that may have long periods of inactivity due to our jobs. This may be obvious as one of the reasons for slowing metabolism, we are going to look at a little trick that can help.
Some jobs involve sitting 2,3, and even four hours wthout getting up. This is a sure way to cause our bodies to store fat rather than burn it. If this sounds like you, be sure that you get up every hour and move around for at least 2 to 3 minutes. This simple trick can help with the increase of our metabolism.
The bottm line on carbs getting a bad rap, is the average American consumes the sugar laden, low-fibre carbs. When you start consuming low-sugar, high-fibre carbs, you can still drop the fat and lose the unwanted pounds.
Here are some examples of these type of carbs – Beans, all green vegetables, wild rice, brown rice, sweet potatoes, and oatmeal to name a few.
